Introduction

Key Stage 4 is the exam years. Years 10 and 11 are a single, purposeful two-year programme that ends with learners sitting externally set, internationally recognised British International (IGCSE) examinations.

In Year 10 learners begin that programme in earnest, studying compulsory Core and Foundation subjects and — before entering the year — choosing the auxiliary subjects that best fit their strengths and ambitions. Because these qualifications are recognised worldwide and carry real weight with university admissions officers, subject choice matters, and our teachers and careers counsellors help learners get it right.

Learners are entered at Core level (grades C–G) or Extended level (grades A*–E) according to ability, and our personalised approach means learners can, where appropriate, sit papers early or study additional subjects. Teaching stays live, interactive and teacher-guided, supported by expert staff and a full co-curricular programme — clubs, meetups, career guidance and life-skills training — so that learners leave Sunrise not just qualified, but ready.
